Ozmosis and The Doctor’s Channel To Examine How Physicians View Social Media During UVA Grand Rounds And Video Shoot
Ozmosis and The Doctor’s Channel are exploring the uses of social media in medicine at the University of Virginia’s School of Medicine as we host video interview sessions in conjunction with a live physician discussion. Before I join the filming, I have the pleasure of presenting at Grand Rounds to the Department of Family Medicine about how physicians may use social media to improve medicine. “Grand Rounds” is a feature of medical education that brings doctors, residents and medical students together to learn from each other, similar to how Ozmosis facilitates online learning among physicians from across the country.
Throughout the day, The Doctor’s Channel will film UVA physicians on a variety of clinical and practice management topics, including the use of social media in medicine. These sessions will appear as short video segments on The Doctor’s Channel and on Ozmosis, where physicians can discuss the videos privately. This is the first time UVA Grand Rounds will be featured on The Doctor’s Channel and Ozmosis and the experiment should produce some intriguing results. Look for some great new videos and social media tips to be featured shortly on both sites.
