BIO International: Social Networks in Life Science

On the heels of releasing its latest findings on the use of social networks in the life sciences industry, Deloitte Research has invited Ozmosis to join its BIO International 2011 presentation and panel discussion on "Improving Innovation Through Use of Social Networks" Thursday, June 29th in Washington, DC.

Based on its research study, "To Friend or Not?", Deloitte has assembled an expert panel with leaders from Eli Lilly, Ozmosis, Patients Like Me and Sermo to explore the past, present and future use of social networks to improve communication and collaboration throughout the life science industry.

Deloitte's study offers a number of valuable insights, which you can view in its entirety here (PDF).  We will explore the implications of these insights during the panel, and I have included a few highlights below:

  • 65 percent of surveyed life science professionals say their company is using or plans to use social networks in some capacity.
  • Emerging brands are more likely to use or plan to use social media tools than mature brands.
  • Most social media channels are still used by life science firms for traditional "push" marketing activities. However, a growing number of companies are using platforms such as OzmosisESP to collaborate with their audience.

Attend our panel discussion, Improving Innovation Through the use of Social Networks, at BIO International Thursday, June 30 at 8:30am to learn more.  You can also follow the discussion live on Twitter using the #bio2011 hashtag.
